Volunteer Opportunities

SWOSU College of Pharmacy values pharmacy alumni involvement. Your knowledge and expertise are tremendous assets that can benefit the pharmacy school. Whether you are looking to engage fellow alumni or connect with students, we have an opportunity for you. Every alum who participates strengthens the pharmacy community.  Help shape the lives of pharmacy students and alumni by becoming a volunteer.  Review the volunteer opportunities listed below to find rewarding activities that meet your interest, experience, and schedule.  If you are interested in volunteering in an area not listed below, please contact the Pharmacy Alumni Office (swpharmacy@swosu.edu or 580-774-3190).

  • PALS Needed (Pharmacy Alumni Lecture Series) - If you are interested in returning to campus and sharing your pharmacy journey with our pharmacy students, please submit your Resume or Curriculum Vitae (CV) to us.  PALS will be an ongoing program (year after year), using a variety of formats, i.e., panel of alumni, lectures to class, lab experiments, research paper discussion, presentation to student organization, brown bag lunch q/a, etc.  Pharmacy alumni are a vital component of the pharmacy school's success. If you have any questions about PALS, please do not hesitate to ask.  We know you have a great pharmacy journey to share with our students, so we look forward to you being a part of this new endeavor at the SWOSU College of Pharmacy.

  • More PAAC People Needed - Consider volunteering for the Pharmacy Alumni Association Council (PAAC).  Join this fun and active group in making a difference for students and alumni of the SWOSU COP.  The PAAC promotes the interests and welfare of the SWOSU College of Pharmacy and the Pharmacy Alumni Association by providing a direct communication link between the College of Pharmacy and its alumni.  Contact the Pharmacy Alumni Office for more information (swpharmacy@swosu.edu or 580-774-3190) and/or submit the PAAC Form to volunteer.  PAAC Form

  • Your Input is Needed for the COP Strategic Plan - The SWOSU College of Pharmacy needs your input for our Strategic Plan.  Because our pharmacy alumni are instrumental in the success of the pharmacy program, we are asking for your input.  If you are interested in participating in the review process, please send your name, email address, primary telephone number and preferred mailing address to the Pharmacy Alumni Office (swpharmacy@swosu.edu)

  • Assist with Pharmacy Admission Interviews - The SWOSU COP Admission Interview process is a very important determinant in the selection of each pharmacy class and your participation in this process will be greatly appreciated.  If you are interested in volunteering, please submit your full name and contact information (email address, day telephone number, preferred mailing address) to us.  You will be helping the COP Admissions Committee by assisting with the personal interview, which is directed by a COP faculty member.  These interviews are held on the SWOSU campus.  There are no guarantees that every volunteer will be scheduled to assist, but if selected, each volunteer will be required to sign a Conflict of Interest and Declaration form prior to serving as an Interview Volunteer.  The selected volunteers will receive confirmation (via email or telephone) of the date/time of the interview session(s).  The Admission Counselor coordinates the interview process and tries to provide as much notice as possible to schedule dates/times with you.   Please know that by participating as a volunteer, you will be playing an integral role in the future of your SWOSU College of Pharmacy.

  • Volunteer to Forward SW Pharmacy Alumni E-News – We are striving to collect email addresses of our pharmacy alumni.  Your assistance in this project will be greatly appreciated.  Because we do not have everybody's email address, we are asking you to help us by contacting your SWOSU COP alumni contacts and encouraging them to send us (swpharmacy@swosu.edu) an email with their name and contact information.  Also, if you have not received any snail mail (Apothecary, alumni event invitations, newsletter, etc.) from us in awhile, we may not have your current mailing address, so please send us your full name and mailing information so that we can update our database.

  • Attend a SWOSU College of Pharmacy Alumni Event/Activity and/or Visit Us at Campus – We welcome your involvement in the activities and programs of both the COP and the Pharmacy Alumni Association.  The Pharmacy Alumni Office plans programs and events each year that specifically support current pharmacy students and alumni through awareness, involvement, and support to our pharmacy school.  We also encourage you to visit the COP when you have the chance.  Take a tour of the facilities, visit with the dean, faculty and students, and be sure to stop by our office for a chat…and a gift.

There are numerous opportunities for volunteering.  You are invited to join fellow alumni and friends who support the College of Pharmacy with the gift of their time, talent and resources.  For more information about pharmacy alumni volunteer opportunities, please feel free to contact the Pharmacy Alumni Office (swpharmacy@swosu.edu; 580-774-3190).  We look forward to seeing you on campus and/or at an upcoming SWOSU COP Alumni activity/event.   No matter how much you can offer, your involvement will contribute to the success of the SWOSU College of Pharmacy.
