- Jerry Meece (74), R.Ph., FACA, CDE was recently installed as 2nd Vice President on the Executive Committee of the American Association of Diabetes Educators, whose headquarters is in Chicago, Illinois. (More)
 He has also been selected as a featured speaker for the Southwestern Pharmacy Alumni "Welcome Home" Distinguished Speaker Continuing Education Series. His presentation, "An Update on Diagnosis and Treatment Concepts for the Pharmacist in Diabetes Care", is Sunday, October 26 in Weatherford, in conjunction with Southwestern Oklahoma State University Homecoming activities. - Steve Pray (72) recently authored another textbook, "History of Nonprescription Product Regulation" and is currently working on "A Pocket Guide to Nonprescription Products".

- Pharmacy Alumni Reception - Southwestern College of Pharmacy will have a Pharmacy Alumni Homecoming Reception on Saturday, October 25, approximately 5:00 p.m (following the Southwestern vs. Southeastern football game), The reception will be held on the 3rd floor of the Chemistry, Pharmacy, Physics building. Come see the newly remodeled east wing, partial remodeling of the west wing, and visit with fellow alumni and faculty. Remember, Rekindle, Reconnect!

- Shelly J. Prince, Ph.D., co-authored "Pharmaceutical Calculations: The Pharmacist's Handbook" with Howard C. Ansel, Ph.D. Dr. Prince is Associate Professor of Pharmaceutics at Southwestern College of Pharmacy with primary teaching responsibilities in Pharmaceutics I, II, and III in addition to Pharmaceutical Care Lab I. She is also sponsor of the Southwestern College of Pharmacy student organizations SWPhA and Kappa Epsilon.
- W. Steven Pray, Ph.D., recently completed another textbook, "History of Nonprescription Product Regulation" and is currently working on "A Pocket Guide to Nonprescription Products". Dr. Pray is Bernhardt Professor of Nonprescription Products and Devices at Southwestern College of Pharmacy with primary teaching responsibilities of Nonprescription Drug Products and Devices class, Pharm Care Lab I (prescription filling, compounding), Pharm Care Lab II (prescription filling and compounding) and Pharm Care Lab V (nonprescription product and device counseling scenario coordinator).

- SWPhA Picnic - The annual Back-to-School Picnic, hosted by SWPhA and sponsored by Eli Lilly & Co., was held on August 26th at Means Park. Approximately 200 pharmacy students enjoyed hamburgers and hot dogs while the faculty slaved over a hot grill! Special thanks to Skip Whitmer and Eli Lilly & Co. for their continued sponsorship of this event.
- Pharmacy Students Practice Immunization Skills - Pharm Care Lab 4 students practice their immunization techniques.just one of the many skills featured in the Pharm.D. curriculum.
- Remodeling - A complete remodeling of the west wing of the CPP Building was scheduled to begin this Fall, but budget shortfalls have delayed this major project. However, to begin to meet ACPE accreditation objectives, the fixtures in the Pharmaceutical Care I Lab (previously Pharmaceutics II lab) are being updated this semester.
