Goals & Objectives: The primary goal of this knowledge-based course is to provide an update in the nonpharmacologic and pharmacologic management of allergic rhinitis and conjunctivitis. Upon completion of this course, pharmacists will be able to: describe the pathophysiology of allergic rhinitis & conjunctivitis; distinguish between the different classifications of allergic rhinitis and recognize conditions that can be considered in the differential diagnosis; identify non-pharmacologic treatment options for the management of allergic rhinitis and conjunctivitis; describe specific therapeutic characteristics of drug treatment options for allergic rhinitis and conjunctivitis; formulate a treatment plan and identify appropriate patient education points based on treatment guidelines and patient specific factors.
