Goals & Objectives: The primary goal of this knowledge-based course is to provide pharmacists with a concise review of recently approved drug products with an emphasis on practice-oriented information for new molecular entities, new products containing existing agents, and new biologics. For each new drug product, the pharmacist should be able to: identify the pharmacological and/or therapeutic classification; describe the approved indication; recognize the basic mechanism of action; describe common adverse effects; recognize clinically relevant drug interactions; illustrate important patient information; recognize an appropriate dosage regimen.
