| Paul Moore
2007 Southwestern Pharmacy Outstanding Alumnus Born in 1954 in Walnut Creek, California, Paul David Moore relocated to Oklahoma and graduated from Atoka High School in 1972. After completing his pre-pharmacy courses at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Mr. Moore matriculated to the College of Pharmacy at Southwestern Oklahoma State University where he graduated with highest honors with a B.S. degree in pharmacy in 1978.
Paul Moore returned to Atoka and worked as a community pharmacist for several years. In the mid-1980’s, Mr. Moore purchased a pharmacy and became a consultant pharmacist for Atoka Memorial Hospital. In these roles, Paul Moore became very active in rural healthcare and, in addition to these commitments, Mr. Moore also developed his own consultant pharmacy management company and has served as the chief executive officer for the Atoka County Healthcare Authority and administrator for Atoka Memorial Hospital and other rural healthcare agencies in Atoka county. With regard to professional and community service activities, Paul Moore has served in a variety of roles with the National Rural Hospital Association and is President-Elect of that organization, is active in leadership roles in the rural health association of Oklahoma, has been active in the Oklahoma Pharmacists Association, has served on various church and education committees in Atoka, and is a member of the board of directors of the Southwestern Pharmacy Alumni Foundation as well as a Lifetime member of the Pharmacy Alumni Association. Mr. Moore is married to Carolyn Sue Gardner, a Southwestern Oklahoma State University graduate, and they have two daughters: Natalie Moore Houck, Pharm.D. (SWOSU College of Pharmacy Class of 2004) and Emily Moore Jones, BSRN. |
